LIRR Pillow

from $56.00

Hand drawn by artist Marc Delany

A dear friend of groundplans, Marc Delany and founder Jody Harrow met in the 1980’s in San Francisco. Jody was setting up her first business screen printing textiles for home furnishings, and Marc worked hands on alongside her setting up and operating her studio.

Marc is a technology designer and construction innovator with 35 years of experience in product development, and he descends from a long line of innovators. His aunts were the renowned civil rights pioneers, the Delany sisters, known for their bestselling  oral history Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years, which brought them fame when they were each over 100 years old and later became a Broadway play.

A graduate of RISD’s Industrial Design school, Marc’s career has spanned from jewelry to fine arts, to solar technology and adaptive re-use of residential and commercial properties. Marc’s early work is featured in the Herd Museum. He teaches 5-50 year olds about design, tools, and silversmithing and serves as an advisor for various development projects such as an adaptive reuse of a registered landmark  historic 1905 schoolhouse.
