The “Focus stacking” photography technique results in a perfect subject image as though viewing it live in front of you. (It could scale to the size of your wall!)

Jeffrey Falk has became an expert and leader in this technique in which a single image with perfect depth of field is produced by photographing the same composition many times at different focal points.  He applies his work with the Botanical Garden Scientists to produce highly enlarged stacked microscopic specimens for scientific papers.

Jeffrey has 50 years experience in wildlife, nature and extreme close up scientific photography. Fifteen years ago he developed the photography  adult education program at the New York Botanical Garden with classes in macro, extreme macro/closeup, stacked focus, flower portraits, and new techniques for advanced nature photography. He has done presentations at B&H Photo Video Event Space in NYC and webinars for the National Association of Nature Photographers. Jeffrey did the stacked focus photography for “The Science Behind Flowers” Plant Morphology for Botanical Artists which was published in August of 2020.
